Thanks to Jonny Wilkinson, Toulon retained the Heineken Cup - has any other team ever done this? asked John Bailey

Since rugby union's Heineken (European) Cup started in 1995-96, only two teams had retained the title before Toulon in 2013-14.

The first was Leicester, who beat Stade Francais in 2000-01 and Munster the following season.

More recently Leinster won the trophy for the first time in 2010-11, beating Northampton in the final, and retained it in 2011-12 in an all-Irish clash against Ulster.

Munster and Wasps have also won the tournament twice, not in successive years.

Leinster also won in 2008-09, making three victories in all - but the most wins is by Toulouse, the inaugural winners, who also lifted the trophy in 2002-03, 2004-05 and 2008-09.
