A sticky issue for Mario Balotelli

Why always him?

After heading the winner against England in Manaus on Saturday, you could probably forgive Mario Balotelli for letting his new hair down a bit.

While some players may struggle from boredom at a World Cup - just ask any of the England squad who played under Fabio Capello - Balotelli has found an interesting way to keep himself amused in Brazil... a sticker album.

And instead of playing by the rules and collecting his official World Cup stickers in proper fashion, the former Manchester City striker decided to annoy the purists (and probably his coach) with an inspired take on who he thought Cesare Prandelli should have selected in his squad.

We can't imagine you playing at left-back, Mario, but you may have fared better against Antonio Candreva than Leighton Baines did:

Balotelli isn't the only one to make a mockery of the "got, got, need" generation, though. The bloggers at Panini Cheapstakes decided against ransacking their local newsagents for packets of stickers and have gone a bit Leonardo da Vinci in order to fill their books.

Because drawing your World Cup heroes is just so much cooler:
