I'm told the man who won most games in a Wimbledon final didn't actually win it. How can this be true, if indeed it is? asked James Kilmore

Remarkably, it is true. The longest Wimbledon final in terms of games was in 2009, when Roger Federer and Andy Roddick contested 77 of them.

Of those, Roddick won 39 games and Federer 38 - but, because of the way the individual sets panned out, Federer ended up winning, the final score being 5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14.

It was the sixth of Federer's seven titles. Poor old Roddick never did win one, despite reaching the final three times.
