Tyson Fury, like many a heavyweight boxer before him, is not known for his well-thought out speeches but even by his trash-talking standards, his thoughts and tweeting fingers appeared to be a little out of control on Monday night.

Incensed that Dereck Chisora had pulled out of their fight, which was scheduled for Saturday, Fury lived up to his name yet again and went just a little over the top on Twitter on Monday night, issuing a series of expletive-ridden threats to his British rival. He also challenged anyone who fancied it to a "rumble" in Bolton city centre.

Perhaps it shouldn't have been a surprise, then, when Fury also threw down a challenge to Liverpool Ladies defender Lucy Bronze. But it was.

"@LucyBronze I want u punk.?" Fury tweeted, in an oddly-punctuated call-out.

Embarrassingly, Fury was actually trying to challenge the next man on his hit-list - undefeated American Deontay Wilder.

Wilder uses the Twitter name @BronzeBomber, so Fury was at least 50% of the way there in trying to secure a bout with the 28 year old.

Fury did eventually realise his mistake but, after his reaction to Chisora's cancellation, Bronze's insistence that she is "unavailable for a fight" was unlikely to have truly placated the hot-headed Briton.
