Poulter feels the wrath of Twitter
They say it's tough at the top - and Ian Poulter found out the hard way on Friday.
The Englishman, currently taking part in the US PGA Championship, booked six business class seats for his wife, Katie, their four children and their nanny to return to the UK.
But when the nanny was downgraded, Poulter took to Twitter to let fly at British Airways.
Booked 6 business seats for my wife & nanny to fly home & @British_Airways downgrade my nanny so katie has no help for 10 hours with 4 kids.

But the multi-millionaire golfer received little sympathy from many of his 1.7 million follower base:
@IanJamesPoulter @British_Airways Thoughts with you at this dark time Ian

@IanJamesPoulter haha, some single mums aren't lucky enough to have a nanny. Or fly business class.

@IanJamesPoulter @British_Airways Clearly not good from BA but welcome to the lives of the majority who can't afford a nanny!

@IanJamesPoulter That news is just terrible Ian. I hope those 4 kids don't suffer too much like those in Gaza. How awful for the family.

My heart bleeds for you @IanJamesPoulter. Children are being killed in Gaza and you're crying because your wife has to look after her own

@IanJamesPoulter @British_Airways just lost so much respect for you. Money's gone to your head.

@IanJamesPoulter @British_Airways World's smallest violin.

@IanJamesPoulter @British_Airways Well done for distancing yourself from approximately 98.3% of the population, Ian

But, true to form, Poulter was having none of it:
It looks like I'm being a stuck up nob. But what is wrong with getting what you have paid for. I ordered a steak. Sorry you can have tomato.
— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) August 8, 2014
I don't see what the problem is. I work as hard as everyone else to provide the best for my family. So I can share my opinion. #Thankyou

I wonder how many people that responded have complained when they haven't received something that they have paid for #Hypocriticaltweet haha
— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) August 8, 2014
Not sure if you liked my wording on original tweet. Hahaha probably didn't come across as it could have. Oh well some things never change.
