Michael Hoey should have been playing on the greens of the Made in Denmark Open on Saturday. Instead, the Northern Irishman had quite an eventful 24 hours away from the event.

The five-time winner on the European Tour finished on four over after two rounds in Aalborg, and thinking he had missed the cut he flied out of Denmark to Amsterdam.

However, after James Heath had made a bogey in Friday's final group, Hoey's score was enough to see him reach the weekend.

Hoey attempted to book a flight back to Denmark, but the drama didn't end there.

He had then been informed the airline had lost his clubs, and in the time trying to find them, he missed the only flight that would have got him back to the event in time to tee off for the third round, which meant he had to withdraw from the event.
