As the X-Factor kicks off another interminable assault on our Saturdays, our ears and the Christmas No.1, Novak Djokovic put on his own talent show at the US Open.

Having beaten American Sam Querrey in straight sets, the world No.1 was in high spirits during his post-match press conference - and brought along a couple of guests.

Djokovic often stays with friend Gordon Uehling during his time in New York, and both Uehling and his nine-year-old daughter were on hand to liven up the last few minutes of another routine round of questions.

"If you don't mind, this is a first-time experience for my dear friend, Zia," Djokovic told reporters. "She's a musician. She's a prodigy, a future star and this is a very valuable experience for her. So please do ask one question."

Turns out Zia has written and arranged five original songs, with two books-worth "that I'm working on right now."

"What instrument do you play?" a reporter asked - guitar. "Are you writing music and the lyrics?" Yep. "Can you sing a song for us?"

Could she ever. Without skipping a beat, Zia sang her original song, dedicated to the people of Africa, called "African Sun."

When she finished, Djokovic wrapped her in a bear hug and a group of reporters gathered around the young singer.

And you thought CiCi Bellis was a star of the future…
