'Wenger's cool but I'm not sure I love him'
"I need to get off the drugs."
Welcome to the wonderful world of Borussia Dortmund manager Juergen Klopp joking around.
He is not on drugs but may be seen as just a bit off the planet, if his outpourings towards Arsene Wenger are anything to go by.
Klopp, last year, said of the Arsenal manager: "He is really something. I love him. He is Sir - Sir Arsene Wenger - for me."
And asked on Monday about his comment last year that "two big coaching personalities" would meet, Klopp replied: "Did I really say that? I need to get off the drugs."
When Klopp was told he had actually said he loved Wenger, the Dortmund coach responded: "I have said that I love Arsene Wenger? Well, I think he's cool, but 'love'? Arsene Wenger is a pleasant and intelligent colleague. I am a long way from comparing myself to such an extraordinary personality like him."
He then added, with a smile: "He speaks more languages than me. He drinks wine, and I drink beer."
Klopp also praised Arsenal's business in the transfer market last summer, saying they "have done one of the best jobs," but given his previous comments it is a bid hard to take him seriously.
