Which driver has won the most F1 Grands Prix without having won the championship? asked Savo Ceprnich from South Africa

Two British drivers lead the way here. Stirling Moss entered 67 GPs and won 16 of them - but famously never won the world title. He was the runner-up in 1955, 1956, 1957 and 1958, and finished third in each of the following three years as well.

Next comes David Coulthard, who won 13 GPs from rather more starts (246). He was the world championship runner-up in 2001, and finished eighth or higher overall every year from 1994 to 2003.

Carlos Reutemann won 12 GPs, two of them for Williams in 1981 when he finished second in the drivers' championship. Felipe Massa, the runner-up in 2008, and Rubens Barrichello - second overall in 2002 and 2004 - both won 11 times.

Ronnie Peterson, the world championship runner-up in 1971 and 1978, and Gerhard Berger - who finished in the top eight of the standings for 12 years running from 1986 to 1997 - both won ten GPs. Mark Webber won nine, and the Belgian Jacky Ickx eight.
