Santoro's slams

I read that Fabrice Santoro appeared in 70 grand slam singles events. Is that the overall record? asked Bernard Covington
The Tahiti-born Frenchman Fabrice Santoro's 70 grand slam singles events between 1989 and 2010 is the male record (he's also the only man to appear in them in four different decades).
His best performance was in reaching the quarter-finals in Australia in 2006, where he lost to David Nalbandian. Santoro did win six singles titles on the professional circuit, but had greater success in doubles: he won two grand slam men's doubles titles (both with Michael Llodra) and one in the mixed (with Daniela Hantuchova), plus 22 other doubles titles in all.
But there is one person who has appeared in even more grand slam singles events than Santoro: the American Amy Frazier played in 71, between 1987 (when she was not quite 15) and 2006.
She reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in 1992, and the US Open in 1995, the year she achieved her career-high ranking of 13th in the world.
Frazier won eight WTA Tour singles titles, and had a remarkable record in Tokyo, where she reached eight of her 15 career finals, winning twice.
