Christmas is a time for giving and receiving and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson is offering up the gift of song this festive season.

Well, song might be putting it generously, because Watson's Christmas single is more hip hop than yuletide pop.

The American is no stranger to the recording studio, having released videos with Ben Crane, Rickie Fowler and Hunter Mahan as the Golf Boys.

But now Watson has opted to go it alone - albeit with the help of a couple of pals in dubious fancy dress - and is hoping to spread some Christmas cheer with the inventively named 'Bubba Claus: The Single'.

Forget lyrics such as 'chestnuts roasting on an open fire' or 'all I want for Christmas is you' - the lines families will be singing this winter go like this: 'I just touched down on a hovercraft/I bet you want to know what's in my bag/Is it golf clubs or a bag of toys? It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Bubba Claus.'

A modern classic, if ever there was one.
