The Indian Tennis Premier League seems to be similar to World Team Tennis - is that still going? asked Gerry Moreton

The ITPL does borrow certain aspects from Team Tennis in the United States, notably some of the revised scoring systems used there.

World Team Tennis was started in 1970 - Billie-Jean King was one of the founders - and has continued ever since, apart from a short break in 1979-80.

The Sacramento Capitals (now relocated to Los Angeles) won six WTT titles between 1997 and 2007, but hot on their heels now are the Washington Kastles - Martina Hingis's team - who have won five of the last six tournaments. The league currently has seven teams.
