Accrington sell tickets for made-up game against United

It is always a blow for lower league clubs when they miss out on facing one of the Premier League big boys in the third round of the FA Cup - but Accrington Stanley aren't letting such things as reality get in their way.
A tie against the elite of the top-flight - particularly away - brings a huge financial injection that can make all the difference for a struggling club, as well as a chance to play giant-killer and a memorable day out for the fans.
Stanley endured the bitter blow of seeing such a potential clash against Manchester United slip through their fingers when they lost a second-round replay to Yeovil 2-0 last month - but that didn't stop them from getting in on the fun, oh no.
Indeed, for just £20, fans of the League Two side can become the proud owner of a commemorative £20 ticket for a game that will never happen against United.
While Yeovil were getting ready to take on the likes of Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao yesterday afternoon at Huish Park, a match United eventually won 2-0, Stanley released the news that all of their fans wanted to hear.
"To mark the club's FA Cup run 250 special edition commemorative tickets for the third round tie with Manchester United that would have followed a second-round replay win at Yeovil are being issued and available to buy for just £20 each," the club said on their website.
"Those who purchase the commemorative tickets will have their name on a Roll of Honour in the club programme and on the website to recognise their contribution in future."
To be fair, at least the money will go towards strengthening the club's squad in January.
Maybe they can also dream up a Wembley final against Arsenal and charge four times as much? That should provide enough cash for a new striker in the summer.
