Where are the golf majors being played in 2015, and has any current player won on any of the courses being used? asked Jonathan Collett

The 2015 US Open (June 18-21) will be held for the first time at the Chambers Bay course in Washington, not far from Seattle. It's a links-style public course, and includes a hole (the 14th) called Cape Fear. It has never held a major before, but the US Amateur championship was played there in 2010, when the winner was Peter Uihlein, who has since won on the European Tour.

The British Open (July 16-19) returns to the Old Course at St Andrews for the first time since 2010, when Louis Oosthuizen was the runaway winner. Tiger Woods won the Open there in 2000 and 2005, and John Daly in 1995.

The PGA Championship (August 13-16) will be played at Whistling Straits, at Kohler in Wisconsin. It has held the PGA twice before - in 2004, when Vijay Singh ended up on top, and in 2010, when Martin Kaymer. Both those tournaments ended in playoffs: Singh beat Chris DiMarco and Justin Leonard, while Kaymer defeated Bubba Watson.
