Warren 'very disappointed' by 'overweight' Chisora

Dereck Chisora will return to action in September against a top-ten heavyweight opponent, according to his promoter Frank Warren.

Chisora, who has twice been scheduled to face Wladimir Klitschko only for the Ukrainian to pull out, suffered the first defeat of his professional career against Tyson Fury last weekend, surrendering the British and Commonwealth titles in the process.

It was a lacklustre performance from Chisora, who surprisingly weighed in heavier than Fury - despite being more than eight inches smaller than his opponent. The excess baggage appeared to take its toll, with Chisora lacking the energy to throw punches in the later rounds.

And Warren has revealed he was far from happy to see his charge in that sort of shape for a bout that was seen by close to three million viewers on terrestrial television.

"As Chisora's manager, I was very disappointed he came into the fight a stone overweight," Warren said in his Sun column. "Plus the inactivity caused by two fights against Wladimir Klitschko falling through may have contributed towards the loss.

"But that's not to take anything away from Fury who got himself into great shape, showed plenty of skill and heart and deserved the win.

"Meanwhile, Chisora will need to get his act together quickly. He will be out again in September against a top-ten ranked opponent."
