Khan tells Haye to fight on

WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Amir Khan has urged David Haye to have one more fight in order to avoid walking away from boxing on a loss.

Earlier this year, Haye insisted he would hang up his gloves in October - but, after losing to Wladimir Klitschko during July, said he would delay his exit if Wladimir or brother Vitali were willing to fight him.

Although Vitali has claimed he is keen to face Haye, there has been nothing from either camp to suggest serious negotiations have begun. Now Khan has advised Haye to enter the ring one more time - even if it is not against a Klitschko.

"[Wladimir] Klitschko's a very tough opponent, [Haye] knew he was going to have his hands full - but he thought mentally he might get into Klitschko's head and break him that way," Khan told Sky Sports News. "It didn't work, but I think David can come back.

"He's still young, he's not had too many hard fights. He can definitely win a world title again and finish up with a win. You never want to finish with a loss. I'm sure David probably will have one more fight [and] win that.

"Financially I'm sure he's secure - he's made a lot of money in boxing. There's always that doubt in that mind when you walk out of a sport losing."
