Jealousy driving Floyd crazy - Pacquiao's promoter

Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum feels Floyd Mayweather Jnr's desire to fight the Filipino is little more than a publicity stunt born out of jealousy.

Mayweather's advisor Leonard Ellerbe said last week that the unbeaten American, who holds the WBC welterweight championship, wants to face Pacquiao at the MGM Grand on May 5 next year.

But Arum is not taking the declaration seriously, and instead is accusing Mayweather of attention-seeking in response to the column inches Pacquiao has generated for his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez.

"It drives him crazy when Pacquiao fights and gets all the attention, so he does crazy things - but we're used to that," Arum told boxingscene.com. "This is nonsense. You don't negotiate a deal this way. All this signifies to me is that they're not serious."

Meanwhile Timothy Bradley, also promoted by Arum, admits he will have to produce a flawless performance if he gets his wish to fight Pacquiao. "I'd have to fight a perfect fight to beat him but I've seen weaknesses that I know I could expose and would win that fight," Bradley said.
