DeGale's date with Guerrero postponed

European super-middleweight champion James DeGale will not face Jose Guerrero on December 9 as scheduled after promoter Frank Warren postponed the event.

The card at Liverpool Echo Arena will now take place on January 27, 2012; there has been no announcement as to whether DeGale will meet Guerrero. Last month reports suggested the Brit, an Olympic gold medallist in 2008, had been pencilled in to meet mandatory challenger Cristian Sanavia in February.

The action was initially meant to be co-headlined by DeGale and George Groves in London, but was moved to Liverpool and then hit by the withdrawal of Groves, the British and Commonwealth champion, due to a hand injury.
