Carl Froch is confident there will be no controversy with regard to the outcome of his fight with Andre Ward on Saturday.

British boxers have tasted controversial defeats in the past fortnight, with Amir Khan and Dereck Chisora losing on points to Lamont Peterson and Robert Helenius respectively. Both camps felt they were victims of home-town decisions and with Froch in America to take on Ward in the final of the Super-Six competition, there are fears of a hat-trick.

Froch's manager Eddie Hearn was at pains to stress they have no fears and the Nottingham fighter does not expect to come away from Atlantic City complaining about the result.

"I think you've got to go away from home and take these fights sometimes or the fights don't happen," he said. "I don't think going away is the be-all and end-all and I don't think being in Washington is the reason he (Khan) lost," said the Nottingham fighter. "I feel he just lost the fight anyway.

"If that same fight had happened in Bolton then maybe he would have got the decision. But would it have been the fair decision? Probably not. I think he lost the fight, I really do."

Hearn said: "There is a lot of concern, there has been a couple of contentious decisions for British fighters fighting abroad, but I want to make it clear that we are comfortable over here. We have no problem that although we are the away fighter, we do not feel like the away fighter.

"Carl fights anywhere, anytime, in anyone's backyard. We believe we have got a great referee, a great commission in New Jersey and three great judges and we are happy and comfortable that we will get a fair crack of the whip."
