A super-fight between David Haye and Vitali Klitschko may still be in the offing, after Bernd Bonte, who manages the Klitschkos, said the Briton has "four-to-five weeks to give us a definitive answer".

Any remaining hopes of a showdown getting the green light were seemingly dashed when, less than two weeks ago, Bonte called Haye a 'loser' and declared the Londoner was making unrealistic financial demands.

Vitali, who puts his WBC heavyweight title on the line against Dereck Chisora on Saturday, had his say on the matter over the weekend, accusing his rival of only caring about cash and admitting he was perplexed as to why Haye was only 'motivated by money'.

Despite discussions reaching an impasse, Bonte has left the door open for Haye to come back to the negotiating table, though he will have to be quick.

"We do not know who Vitali's opponent is going to be [beyond Chisora]," Bonte told boxingscene.com. "We were negotiating with Haye, but most likely the fight [between Haye and] Vitali will never happen. Haye has four-five weeks to give us a definitive answer; otherwise we will start negotiations with other boxers."
