Dereck Chisora says he can "smell fear" in WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko ahead of their clash on Saturday, with the Brit vowing to knock out the title-holder in the eighth round.

Chisora will bid to prise away the WBC belt away from Klitschko in Munich at the weekend, with many tipping the Ukrainian to prove too strong for the more inexperienced challenger.

However, Chisora believes he is the man to rock the heavyweight division and inflict only a third defeat on Klitschko in 46 fights, despite having lost on his last two outings - against Tyson Fury and Robert Helenius.

"I'm looking forward to this fight," Chisora said at the pre-fight press conference. "And I trained hard. And the way we're going to be fighting will be a hundred miles an hour from the first round to round eight, which I promise you fans he's going down on.

"Right now, I can smell fear in this corner right now. If you can't smell it, I can. You know, right here I smell a bit of fear, to the opposite side, because they know they're going to lose something massive. I'm physically, emotionally and mentally looking forward to this fight because it's going to be one heck of a fight, I tell you that now.

Vitali was unimpressed by Chisora's pre-fight taunts and insisted he would make Chisora pay for making a prediction ahead of the contest.

"I'm really looking forward to teaching this young gentleman a lesson. He is from Great Britain, but he's lacking appropriate manners," he said.

"You promised to knock me out in eight rounds. I was so impressed and believed you, and because of this impression I go to training camp. And they prepared me very hard... This belt, I don't give you on Saturday night. You don't have a chance. You have a try. You have a chance to try."
