English heavyweight champion David Price is four fights away from toppling either Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko, according to Price's promoter Frank Maloney.

Price, who won Olympic bronze in 2008, has won all 12 of his professional contests - and was on course to meet former British and Commonwealth champion Tyson Fury until he opted to vacate those titles.

Despite that setback, Price is thought to have a bright future in the heavyweight division, which is crying out for someone to break through and challenge the Klitschkos. And Maloney believes that, having seen Vitali fail to stop Dereck Chisora earlier this month, his man's time is about to come.

"The Klitschkos are perfectionists and great professionals, but they are also bad for the sport because they are so dominant and people are losing interest," Maloney told his official website. "I think you can see that Vitali is coming to the end. His experience got him through the fight with Chisora. Boxing is all about timing and judgement and David has come along at the right time.

"I think David will be ready for either Klitschko after another four fights. That's my personal belief. I'm not saying we will look to make that happen, but if he gets the right opponents and keeps working hard with Franny Smith in the gym, we would have to consider any offer that comes along."
