Jamie McDonnell made the fourth defence of his European bantamweight title with a second-round stoppage of Ivan Pozo.

McDonnell, who has his sights trained on a world-title shot, dominated from the outset - with Pozo unable to make any inroads as the Brit fired a string of stinging jabs.

Pozo was caught by a right hand in the second and it opened him up for a left and McDonnell unleashed a stinging shot to the ribs that sent his opponent to the canvas. The Spaniard was winded, spitting his gumshield out as he gasped for breath, and he failed to beat the count.

"I am stepping it up now," McDonnell told Sky Sports. "I came out to look good. I was taking my time and found a sweet one underneath. I thought I caught it bang on. He did not get up and it's all good.

"I thought he would have come out flying, but he didn't and he was eating my jab. I enjoyed it.

"He was European champion and fought for world titles and I got rid of him."
