Eddie Hearn has moved to allay fears Carl Froch's fight with Lucian Bute is in danger of collapsing by confirming "we are all good to go".

Nottingham's Froch is due to challenge for Bute's IBF super-middleweight belt on May 26 in his hometown, although the clash was thrown into doubt after it emerged the undefeated Romanian has been struggling with a foot infection.

The Canadian-based champion, who has never fought outside of his native Romania, Canada or the US, has been suffering with the problem since last Saturday, with a doctor prescribing Bute antibiotics to treat the infection.

Despite the alarm bells ringing, Froch, who is bidding to get his career back on track after falling to a second professional loss at the hands of Andre Ward in the final of the Super Six tournament in December, has been reassured by Bute's promoters, Interbox, that their man is on the mend and will be ready for battle.

Writing on Twitter, Hearn, the Cobra's promoter, said: "Just spoke to Team Bute.. We are all good to go people."

Bute will meet with doctors again later this week to ensure the foot is healing appropriately.
