Former WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch is one of a number of names being considered for Mikkel Kessler's next opponent.

Kessler inflicted the first defeat of Froch's professional career when he beat him on a unanimous points decision in Denmark during April 2010.

Froch, who meets IBF king Lucien Bute on Saturday in Nottingham, has subsequently expressed a desire to try and avenge the loss he suffered against the Dane - and it seems he may be granted his wish.

"I can throw six names [out there], and we will follow [these three fights] closely in the near future: Carl Froch against Lucien Bute, Chad Dawson against Andre Ward and Jean Pascal against Tavoris Cloud. They are the ones that we will be watching," said Kessler's promoter, Kelle Sauerland, to boxingscene.com.

Kessler stopped Allan Green in the fourth round of their light-heavyweight contest this weekend.
