Kessler ready to face Froch in Nottingham

Mikkel Kessler is open to facing IBF super-middleweight champion Carl Froch for a second time - and he would be willing to travel to Froch's hometown of Nottingham.

Kessler inflicted the first defeat of Froch's professional career in April 2010, but has fought just twice subsequently - the second of which was at light-heavyweight against Allan Green earlier this month - having struggled with injury.

He was in attendance as Froch demolished Lucian Bute to claim the IBF title on Saturday, and has now talked up the prospect of another battle between the pair.

"You could not fail to be impressed by the way Froch boxed [against Bute], and he was a different fighter to the one which lost to Andre Ward earlier this year," Kessler told the Daily Express.

"I think you could say his display was just about punch perfect. He landed with the majority of his big shots and his accuracy was excellent.

"I have nothing but respect for Froch and I think the feeling is mutual. We fought each other in the ring, it was a great fight and I won. I am sure Froch thinks he will beat me next time and I hope there is a next time as I will show him again that I am the better fighter. I would have no problem travelling to England to face Froch. He came to Denmark, so why not?"
