Carson Jones has ramped up his war of words with Kell Brook ahead of their July 7 showdown, vowing to "beat the hell out of him" and make the Brit's face "look nasty".

Unbeaten welterweight Brook looks to further his claims for a world title shot when he meets American Jones at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield a week on Saturday.

With Randall Bailey recently beating Mike Jones for the vacant IBF belt, the carrot of a world title fight dangles invitingly for both men - although big-punching Bailey is in line to make his first defence against Devon Alexander in September, according to his promoter Lou DiBella.

Brook has been knocking on the door for a world title fight for a long time, and he has added spice to his clash with Jones by warning his rival he is ready to show his "nasty" side and has goaded him by calling him a quitter.

However, Jones has hit back ahead of the title eliminator, twisting Brook's words to offer his own interpretation of what will be 'nasty'.

"I agree we will see the nasty Kell Brook, because after I beat the hell out of him his face will look very nasty," he told boxingscene.com. "This kid is confused about what he is up against. There is no quit in me, which is why I am in this position I am in right now. I never gave up."

Jones, who has stopped his last eight opponents, also took a swipe at Brook's compatriot Amir Khan, claiming he will run through the Bolton fighter after dispensing of Brook.

"Amir Khan is a good boxer but I don't think he has the heart to match. And I think I would stop him just like I will Kell Brook."
