David Haye has risked sparking a betting controversy by hinting he will "check the odds" before putting his foot down and stopping Dereck Chisora on July 14.

Following his third-round stoppage of Audley Harrison in November 2010, Haye was heavily criticised for boasting that he had advised friends and family to bet on him winning in the third.

Nonetheless, less than two years later, he has said he will look at the bookmakers' prices before he meets Chisora at Upton Park.

"I think this fight will be one of my most entertaining," Haye told the Daily Star. "My recent fights haven't been the most explosive for one reason or another but no doubt about it, this will not go the distance in a million years.

"I will win by a knockout definitely and I'm looking forward to entertaining people. Nine times out of ten my strategies work and I've got one for this.

"People are going to be quite surprised from the opening bell. They're going to be pleasantly surprised. If he's lucky enough to hear the bell for the end of the first round he will realise, 'I've never been hit this hard before'.

"The same as when he got buzzed in the first round against Robert Helenius in December, he will get it 15 times against me. I will knock him out whatever round he wants. I will have to check the odds first.

"He's different to anyone I've fought with his particular style because I've been fighting at world level and people with his style don't usually get to that level. He's a pressure fighter - like John Ruiz - and I put him on his ass in 25 seconds."

Haye denied ever betting on himself to beat Harrison.
