Price backs Haye to stop Chisora

David Haye will be too fast and too accurate for Dereck Chisora in Saturday's grudge match at Upton Park, according to British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price.

The British duo will face off in front of an expected crowd of almost 40,000 at West Ham's home ground, stepping into the ring together less than six months after brawling during the press conference following Chisora's WBC title defeat by Vitali Klitschko in Munich.

"I fancy Haye to win inside the distance," Price told Talksport. "Chisora is a good fighter, but if he thinks he can just walk through Haye he's got another think coming because Haye's speed and accuracy could be the telling thing in this fight. I can see him winning inside the distance."

Chisora's camp have taunted his Bermondsey-based opponent with accusations that he talks a good fight without delivering on the big stage, but Price believes that is an unfair assessment of the man who previously unified the four world cruiserweight titles before stepping up a weight category to be crowned WBA heavyweight champion.

"It's a bit harsh to say Haye doesn't perform - you can count those occasions on one finger and that was against Wladimir Klitschko when he didn't really turn up. He does make a lot of noise before fights but once the bell goes for the first round none of that will matter."

Price will defend his heavyweight titles in October with his opponent yet to be named, and would relish a fight with either Haye or Chisora.

"The winner of this will go after a Klitschko," Price added. "But I'd be willing to fight either of them. It's more likely that as British champion I'd fight for the loser of this one.

"Haye probably won't want to go for the British title and might retire if he loses. If Chisora loses, I think he'd fancy a challenge for the British and Commonwealth titles."
