Kell Brook is reportedly contemplating hiring Carl Froch's trainer Rob McCracken, although current stablemate Kid Galahad has warned the Sheffield star it would be a "mistake" to ditch his current team.

Brook retained his unbeaten record but was forced to survive a 12-round war with Carson Jones in Sheffield earlier this month.

Brook faded alarmingly in the second half of the contest and the 26-year-old admitted afterwards his stamina must improve if he is to realise his dream of becoming a world champion.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has made it clear the Sheffield-born fighter needs to knuckle down and not cut corners in training if he wants to challenge on the biggest stage, and rumours are now circulating that Khan is eyeing a partnership with the highly-rated McCracken, who along with training IBF super-middleweight champion Froch is also Team GB's boxing performance director.

However, Galahad believes Brook, who left the [Brendan] Ingle camp after his seventh pro fight and began training under David Coldwell before being tempted back to work with current coach Dominic Ingle, should think twice before jumping ship.

"Kell's relationship with Dominic is different to mine with him. I think it's all been one-fight deals so far. They are not as close as I am with Dom; I think with them it's strictly business," he told the Sheffield Star.

"My gut feeling is he will stay. The Ingle's have always looked after him and got him into the position he is now. When he left the Ingle's a few years ago, he looked ordinary sometimes and then after he came back he looked a million dollars.

"I hope he thinks long and hard. Maybe last time he left it was a mistake and he wouldn't want to make a mistake twice. McCracken looks after Carl Froch and is involved with the Great Britain squad so how would he have time to look after Kell properly?"
