Khan opens talks with McCloskey

Amir Khan is aiming to begin his journey towards redemption with a fight against Paul McCloskey in December.
Former world champion Khan, who is seeking to rebuild his career following losses in his most recent two bouts, beat McCloskey on a technical decision when they met in April 2011.
The fight was stopped due to a cut by McCloskey's left eye - opened up by an accidental clash in the sixth round - with Khan having controlled the opening rounds.
The result was highly controversial, with McCloskey's promoters feeling the wound was nowhere near severe enough to warrant the contest being called off.
After the Khan loss, McCloskey scraped past Breidis Prescott before being stunned by journeyman DeMarcus Corley earlier this year, a defeat that seemed to leave his career in tatters.
However, he did produce a fluent performance to sink Manuel Perez last weekend - and now it seems he is set for another Khan battle.
"Both parties are serious. The dates being mentioned are 8 or 15 December in Manchester," Francie McNicholl, McCloskey's manager, said to the BBC.
"If we are looking at either of the December dates, we need to get the fight finalised in the next two weeks because Paul will need a [training] camp of at least eight weeks. I would expect that something will be decided in the next week."
Khan recently split with trainer Freddie Roach, and is expected to announce Virgil Hunter - who looks after super-middleweight king Andre Ward - as his new coach.
