James DeGale has lashed out at Chris Eubank Jr, accusing the middleweight of living off his father's reputation.

DeGale, who retained his European super-middleweight title with victory over Hadillah Mohoumadi at the weekend, claims Eubank "lives on a different planet".

DeGale and Eubank share the same promoter in Mick Hennessy, but recently fell out at a sparring session, and the former Olympic champion has accused Eubank of being rude and disrespectful.

"I got the impression that him and his dad live on a different planet. After the spar, he jumped over the ropes and into the ring where I was working," DeGale was quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

"I told him to get out of the ring and he didn't like it. He behaves stupid and is rude and disrespectful and lives off his dad's reputation.''

Eubank, who defeated Ruslans Pojonisevs on the same card on Saturday, insists he is his own fighter.

"Jumping over the ropes is a tribute to my dad," he said. "It gets me hyped up, but I'm not trying to copy him. I'm my own fighter."
