The WBO has ordered its light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly to face a ranked opponent on November 10.

Cleverly was due to meet Ryan Coyne on that date in Los Angeles, but that bout has apparently been scrapped due to a legal dispute between Don King, Coyne's former promoter, and Frank Warren, who promotes Cleverly.

If Coyne's replacement is ranked outside of the WBO's top 15, then the light-heavyweight title will not be on the line and the bout will only last ten rounds.

The winner of Cleverly's next fight, assuming it is for the WBO strap, will then have to commence negotiations with mandatory challenger Robin Krasniqi within 30 days.

Cleverly was due to face Krasniqi in April this year, but pulled out a week before due to a viral infection.
