Amir Khan has backtracked from comments hinting Freddie Roach's Parkinson's disease was affecting his ability to train fighters.

Khan recently split from Roach following two successive defeats - against Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia - in order to link up with Virgil Hunter.

Speaking recently about his decision to leave Roach, Khan said earlier this week: "It's hard to see him older and getting worse. I wish him the best. Freddie, with the Parkinson's disease, he was struggling with instructions and couldn't move as well."

However, he has now suggested he does not feel Roach is responsible for his recent damaging reverses. "Hey guys I didn't say Freddie Roach is a bad trainer, he's one of the best out there," Khan tweeted.

"I blame myself for the losses in my career. Not blaming Freddie Roach or anyone. I just needed a change."

Khan will make his debut under Hunter against unbeaten American Carlos Molina on December 15, in what has been described as a make-or-break bout in his career.
