Carl Froch has warned Yusaf Mack that he is "in for a shock" if he believes he will leave Nottingham with the IBF super-middleweight belt on Saturday night.

Froch has declared himself ready for the fight ahead of Friday's weigh-in, and while he insists he has taken the build-up to the bout seriously and has a healthy respect for the American, the Nottingham native is confident of retaining his world title.

"I'm not going to let that go for anybody," Froch told Sky Sports News. "If Yusaf Mack thinks he can come over here and take my belt off me, he's in for a terrible, terrible shock.

"The training camp's gone excellent, I'm feeling ready, I'm on the weight. The weigh-in is on Friday but I'm ready now. These last couple of days I'll relax, get my mind focused and get myself where I need to be mentally to do the business on Saturday night."

Mack has spent most of his career boxing at light-heavyweight and has not fought at super-middleweight in five years, but while many view the fight as a stepping-stone to a rematch with Lucian Bute, the Briton refuses to think of the bout as an easy fight.

"He's a fast fighter. He's been at the top level and he's only fallen short against top champions in a higher weight division, so I'm not sure what to expect punching-power-wise or strength-wise up close.

"I know we're fighting super-middleweight for my IBF world title, the one that I whipped away from Lucian Bute in my last fight.

"I've got to take this guy very, very seriously. He knows what it's like to fight for a world title, and he know's what it's like to lose. But he's coming into the lions' den in Nottingham and he knows what to expect from me.

"He will be well-prepared. He's coming over from Philadelphia, a tough place to live and be brought up, especially the boxing scene. He's going to be rough, tough, confident, brave, and he's going to have a real go.

"I'm taking it very seriously, but I'm confident I've got the tools, the experience and everything I need to do the business."
