Hatton: I don't care if i get knocked out

Ricky Hatton insists he will be content even if he is knocked out inside two rounds of his comeback fight against Vyacheslav Senchenko.

The former world champion returns to the ring on November 24, having lost five stone to get himself back into shape for the bout.

Hatton, who retired from the sport after his second-round defeat at the hands of Manny Pacquaio in 2009, just the second loss of his career after being knocked out by Floyd Mayweather Jr two years earlier, says he will be proud of himself, regardless of the outcome against Senchenko.

"I have no fear about what could happen when I step back into the ring," Hatton said in the Sun. "If I get flattened in two rounds again, it will be hard for me to come to terms with.

"But the following day I can look in the mirror and say to myself, 'You know what Rick, you needed to put those demons to rest. You got all that weight off, you picked a worthy opponent, you give it your best, now be the best promoter you can be. You should be proud of yourself'."

Hatton revealed his decision to return to the ring was a determination to end his professional career with a win.

He said: "I was asking myself 'Can I end all of this boxing lark on a high instead of it finishing with me flat on my back after two rounds against Pacquiao'.

"The last time people saw me was because of all the problems I had at the time. I wanted to end it on a positive note and that is why I have carried on."
