Pacquiao seeking Marquez closure

Manny Pacquiao has told ESPN that he had to set up a fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez to finally nail down who is the superior.

Pacquiao and Marquez have met on three occasions, the first being a draw and the second and third going the way of Pacquiao on points.

Their most recent meeting, at the end of 2011, was hugely controversial with some feeling Marquez edged the contest. The tightness of the fight and controversial nature of the result led to immediate calls for a rematch and a year on, following Pacquiao's equally controversial loss to Timothy Bradley, they will meet in Las Vegas next month.

"I decided to fight Marquez as we need a fourth fight as he is always claiming he won the fight," Pacquiao told ESPN. "He is claiming that he won the fight and we need the fourth fight to answer all the doubts in his and his fans' mind."

Pacquiao claims he will look to be more aggressive and, if possible, will aim for a stoppage to rule out any controversy.

He said: "If it is possible, if there is a chance to finish the fight, then yes I am not going to predict a knockout, but I will do my best and get back the aggressiveness I had when I was younger."
