Heavyweight David Price was nine pounds heavier than Matt Skelton at Thursday's weigh-in ahead of their British and Commonwealth title fight on Friday.

Price is a huge favourite to defeat Skelton at Aintree Racecourse as he attempts to take another step towards world title level - potentially fighting the Klitschko brothers in the near future.

The Liverpudlian tipped the scales at 17st 12lbs, with Skelton coming in at 17st 3lbs. For Price, who says a fight with Tyson Fury is also on the cards, Friday will be all about imposing his own style on his veteran opponent.

"I'll use my tactics to fight my fight and not get drawn into a Matt Skelton type of fight," Price told Sky Sports News.

Skelton, at the age of 45, is widely considered to be cannon fodder for Price, although he has won his last three bouts. The chance to win titles has inspired the Bedford Banger to focus his training for what could be his last crack at the British belt.

"It's a good fight, and it's a big fight regardless of where I am in my career," Skelton said.

"David Price has been built up for big things so it's an important fight for me. It's for the British and Commonwealth [titles].

"I've trained hard, I'm very focused and I'm looking forward to it."
