Andrew Flintoff's win over Richard Dawson on Friday was good enough to place him 594th in the BoxRec's heavyweight rankings.

Former England cricket captain Flintoff took the decision to turn professional earlier this year and despite some claiming it is a gimmick and an insult to boxing, he made a winning debut at the MEN Arena.

There are many, including his trainer Barry McGuiggan, who feel he should not step back into the ring again.

"I just hope he doesn't want to do it anymore because it was such a tough, difficult job to get him into that type of shape," McGuigan told Sky Sports. "He worked exceptionally hard but it was a real trial.

"But could we reproduce this, let's say for example if he wanted to go to America? I don't think we could."

Irrespective of whether he carries on or retires, his win over Dawson was enough to earn him a ranking from BoxRec. At 594, he is immediately below Dimitar Taskov, a Macedonian with two wins and two defeats to his name, while he is 522 places behind Audley Harrison.
