Carlos Molina is confident he will strike the hammer blow to Amir Khan's reputation by condemning the former light-welterweight world champion to a third successive defeat.

Khan admits he is in the last-chance saloon as he looks to bounce back from back-to-back defeats to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia when he takes on the unbeaten Molina, who is stepping up from lightweight, in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Khan, who ditched trainer Freddie Roach in favour of Virgil Hunter following his surprise defeat to Garcia in the summer, believes he is a smarter fighter and has learnt from his previous mistakes.

But Molina is confident he can expose Khan's chin once again by chipping away at the Brit, warning Khan he chose the wrong opponent if he was looking for an easy win to restore his reputation.

"I think they picked the wrong opponent," Molina told Sky Sports. "I'm going to shock the world on Saturday night, I have no doubt about that. I'm going to go in there and I am going to come out victorious.

"I'm going to go in there and pound away at him and it's going to be like chopping down a tree, just keep working and working until he falls.

"He's smart, but put pressure on him and let my hands fly. Once I get in there and start hitting him I know he's going to open up. That's what we want - we want him to open up and that's when we are going to catch him.

"I know Amir Khan, he loves to get in fights and that's what we are going to look for, we are looking for an all-out war."
