New-look Amir Khan ready for next challenge

Amir Khan says he is back in the hunt for another world title after beating Carlos Molina on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Khan overcame some early round jitters to beat the previously undefeated Mexican-American after 10 rounds, when his camp threw in the towel.

It was the Bolton fighter's first bout under new trainer Virgil Hunter and afterwards Khan put the win down to his new-found discipline in the ring.

After two defeats in a row to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia, Khan admitted before the fight that his career was on the line.

But following the victory, the former two-time world champion has claimed that he can reach those heights again, sooner rather than later.

"I'm sure I will be a world champion again soon," Khan said. "There's always room for improvement. I'm still learning. Give me two or three fights with Virgil and I am sure you will see a better Amir Khan.

"There were times when I did get caught with shots but I never lost my rag. I stuck to the game plan and was safe."
