Haye not frustrated with Vitali phoney war

David Haye has said the silence from Vitali Klitschko's camp is getting on for 12 months yet insists he is not frustrated by the Ukrainian's lack of communication.

Haye still has faith that a final career fight against the 41-year-old heavyweight could happen but says that this summer is the last chance or he will retire.

The Hayemaker said in October that terms had been agreed between the two fighters and while Haye has ruled out travelling to the Ukraine he says is happy to fight in Germany.

"We haven't heard a word from his people since before Vitali fought [Dereck] Chisora [in February 2012]," Haye told Sky Sports News.

"Everything is sort of agreed it's just a matter of when and where. I have said I am more than happy to go and fight over in Germany, like I did before [against Vitali's brother Wladimir]. I expect the fight to be in Germany.

"If it's not happened by this summer then [I must] accept the fact that the fight is never happening and move on."

Should the fight fail to take place and the Lambeth-born fighter retires he is adamant there would be no cause for frustration. However, Haye is clear on the fact that he wants one last hurrah in the ring, for himself and his fans.

"So far I am not frustrated, I had a nice New Year's, I went away and chilled and relaxed," he said. "It's nice to come back and meet the fans and talk to them and get a feel for what they want and they all seem to want another fight."
