Amir Khan could make his welterweight debut on home soil with reports he is targeting a fight with Ricky Hatton's conqueror Vyacheslav Senchenko.

The former world champion brought Hatton's comeback to an abrupt end last year and now Khan wants to avenge his friend's defeat in April, on what would be his first home fight in two years.

According to a report in the Sun, Khan, who beat Carlos Molina last month, wants to bring Senchenko back to the Manchester Arena on April 20, when Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo could make his professional debut on the undercard.

While he would rather fight Senchenko at 140 pounds, Khan may be prepared to move up to welterweight.

Khan said earlier this month that he would "know when the time was right" to move up to welterweight, although he felt he wasn't ready just yet.

"There are fights and titles to be won again," Khan said. I think naturally I'm not big enough to be a welterweight yet but I'll know when the time is right."
