Hatton rules out second comeback

Former light-welterweight world champion Ricky Hatton has told ESPN that rumours of a second comeback to boxing are just that.

Hatton unsuccessfully attempted a comeback in November 2012 as he was knocked out by Vyacheslav Senchenko in Manchester.

He retired emotionally straight after the loss in front of a sell-out crowd in his home town saying he realised that he 'had no more'.

Recently he has been back at his gym just outside Manchester where he is working with the likes of middleweight contender Martin Murray.

This has prompted rumours saying he could be coming out of retirement, but Hatton dismissed them by telling ESPN: "It's great, I'm enjoying it. I've been in the gym every day trying to bring the next champions through. I made my comeback, I needed to find out if I still had it and I didn't, but now I'm in a happy place."

"It's not really difficult to get back into the gym. People have started thinking I'll make another comeback because there have been pictures of me working in the gym, jumping the bar. People think I'm making a comeback, but I'm really not."

Ricky Hatton was training with the UFC's Paul Sass ahead of the Liverpudlian's upcoming fight against Danny Castillo on February 16th UFC: London 2013 event is being held at Wembley Arena and tickets are still available via UFC.com and Ticketmaster.
