Hatton tells Pac and Floyd to 'get it on'

Ricky Hatton has told his former welterweight division rivals Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao to roll up their sleeves and "get it on" in the ring.

A match-up between the two multi-weight world champions has long been talked about but Hatton added he does not believe the fight will ever actually happen.

One sticking point to preventing the fight in the past was the share of the purse - Hatton believes they should split it 50-50 - but more recent problems relate to Mayweather believing he is too good for Pacquiao.

Following the Filipino's knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez in December, when the Mexican felled his opponent in the sixth round, Mayweather, and Hatton, have questioned the 34-year-old's future in the sport.

Compared with Pacquiao's five career losses, Mayweather, 35, is undefeated in 43 career fights and Hatton thinks the match-up has lost its previous attraction.

"I don't think Mayweather v Pacquiao will happen," Hatton told ESPN. "Since Pacquiao got beat it's lost its sparkle. It's a shame that they don't want to fight each other.

"You go in this sport to prove you're best in the world, so you'd think they'd both be thinking 'can I really beat you? 'I think they should go 50/50 and just get it on."

Hatton lost to Mayweather and Pacquiao, both by knockout, in his 48-fight career and he retired, for the second time, after a defeat to Ukrainian Vyacheslav Senchenko in November.
