Ogogo seeking early Vegas fight

London 2012 bronze-medalist Anthony Ogogo has said there is a possibility he will fight on Floyd Mayweather Jr's undercard, less than six months after turning professional.

Ogogo, 24, signed up with Golden Boy Promotions in December and has subsequently vowed to become Britain's greatest middleweight.

Although he has not lined up a maiden bout as a pro, Ogogo told ESPN's Steve Bunce on his podcast that he could be in action in Las Vegas on May 4.

Mayweather will be defending his WBC welterweight crown at the MGM Grand that night but who his opponent will be is not yet known. The American recently cooled rumours that it would be mandatory challenger Robert Guerrero. Saul Alvarez is another possibility for 'Money' to fight as he looks to extend his impeccable career record of 43-0.

And Ogogo could be there as well, albeit fighting a little earlier on in the night, something he nevertheless says would be a dream.

"There's the possibility to fight on the Floyd Mayweather undercard in the US on May 4th, which would be a dream," Ogogo told ESPN. "Even to box at half past two on a Vegas undercard is the stuff a young boxer dreams of.

"I want to box as much in the UK as much as possible, but if the opportunity arises to box in Vegas or Madison Square Garden, why not?"
