Trainer: 'Slappy' Fury no threat to Klitschko
Wladimir Klitschko's trainer has questioned the credentials of Tyson Fury, accusing him of being 'slappy', but admitted David Price is a legitimate threat to the heavyweight world champion.
While Klitschko and his brother Vitali have dominated the division for years, Fury and Price have been making names for themselves in Britain.
The promoters of Fury and Price have failed to strike a deal to get the pair in the ring together, with Fury stating his aim is to break America before getting a crack at a Klitschko.
Klitschko's trainer James Ali Bashir has described Fury as "big and strong" but issued a putdown by saying his punching lacks quality.
"In my opinion, the only two boxers who can throw a real challenge to Wladimir Klitschko are Kubrat Pulev and David Price," Bashir told Baylor TV. "Tyson Fury? No. I don't have a particularly high opinion of Tyson Fury. He's a big and strong guy, but he can't throw a punch. He slaps rather than hits.
"Wladimir Klitschko would knock Tyson Fury out. Fury against Vitali? Look, I'm not impressed with Tyson Fury. He's a big guy, throws a lot of punches, but Vitali would beat him."
