Mikkel Kessler has warned Carl Froch he needs "to be ready" when the pair go head-to-head on May 25 at the O2 Arena.

WBA super-middleweight champion Kessler will take on Froch in a repeat of their fight three years ago, where Kessler inflicted a first career-defeat on Froch in Denmark.

While IBF super-middleweight holder Froch has lost one fight since, Kessler has won all of his bouts and recalls the first battle from 2010.

"Yeah [it was a fair result]. Carl admitted it was a fair fight and I hope it's going to be a fair fight again here to," Kessler said, speaking to Sky Sports News, on the fight he won by a unanimous decision from the judges.

Kessler had a message for Froch, saying: "Carl, you have to be ready this time", but confessed Froch has developed as a fighter since the defeat. Nevertheless, he promised to expose the Brit's flaws when they take to the ring and not allow his opponent to find his weaknesses.

"Yes he has [improved as a fighter]. A lot of the fighters when they lose are never the same fighter again, but Carl has improved a lot," Kessler said. "He's a very good fighter. I see a lot of mistakes in him but of course I have to say that. I'm going to be more than prepared for the fight.

"Of course we all have some weaknesses, but it's going to take a lot of him to hit me in the right place to get me where he thinks I'm weak.

"I like Carl outside of the ring. He's a nice guy. We're going to hit each other very hard so of course you put up a wall. I don't like trash talk. It's the sport I love. It's always difficult to explain to people why you like to hit another person. That's the sport, that's what I've been doing since I was 13 years old and I like it.

"When we look at each other and stand in that ring there's going to be death in our eyes."
