Haye return decision expected 'within next two weeks'

David Haye will make decision on his expected return to the ring within the next two weeks, according to the British heavyweight's trainer Adam Booth.

Speculation is rife that Haye will return to professional boxing in the summer in a bid to earn another world title shot - with the Daily Mail reporting last week that the former WBA world champion had pencilled in July 6 for his comeback, having recently applied to the British Boxing Board of Control to have his licence restored.

While calling the initial report "shoddy journalism", Booth acknowledged that Haye has been training in recent times and revealed that an announcement on his plans can be expected in the next two weeks.

"David is definitely doing some serious thinking," Booth said, speaking after fellow charge George Groves' super-middleweight win over Baker Barakat.

"He will make a decision very soon - in the next ten days or so."

Within boxing circles it is now expected that Haye will return to action on June 29 in London, with ranked heavyweights including Tyson Fury and Manuel Charr keen to fight the former cruiserweight.

Fury's manager, Mick Hennessy, said earlier in the week: "He is interested in that fight with Haye, definitely, and it could be done at a stadium this summer as long as the date is right."
