Manuel Charr has declared himself "ready" to take on David Haye following the former WBA heavyweight champion's announcement that he is returning to the ring.

Haye retired in 2011 following his unanimous defeat to Wladimir Klitschko but subsequently came back to beat Dereck Chisora in July 2012. On Thursday Haye confirmed he will fight at the MEN Arena in Manchester on June 29 but an opponent has yet to be named.

However, 'Diamond Boy' Charr has put himself in the frame and wants to be the boxer who Haye will mark his comeback against, believing the victor of the potential bout will be in a great position to engineer a meeting with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.

"I heard that Haye is still looking for an opponent for his next fight. There's no need to look any further. I'm right here waiting," Charr said. "Haye himself said that Vitali Klitschko couldn't beat me - instead Vitali's doctor won the fight for him.

"I still want my rematch against Klitschko. And Haye is my way to get there. Let's do an eliminator for Vitali. I'm ready when you are, David."

Charr was the last man to take on Vitali but lost out after the fight was stopped due to the 28-year-old suffering a cut above his right eye.
